Build using dpkg-buildpackage:

$ dpkg-buildpackage -d -tc
  -d   # do not check build dependencies and conflicts.
  -tc  # clean source tree when finished.

Update changelog:

$ date -R

One can also install devscripts package and run:

$ dch -i

Check packages:

$ dpkg -c *.deb
$ lintian *.deb
